What Is High-Penetration Sublimation?

High-penetration sublimation is a subclass of standard sublimation ink formulated to penetrate fabric fibers more deeply; it's used in textile work that calls for denser color saturation.

The Difference from Standard Sublimation

Standard sublimation ink fixes near the surface of the fiber; high-penetration sublimation works on the same principle, but its formulation is designed to penetrate the fiber more deeply.

The Purpose of the Formulation

This difference aims to make dark tones and dense patterns stand out more clearly in the print; the actual result varies by fabric type, design and print settings.

When Standard Sublimation Is Enough

For light-toned or medium-density designs, standard sublimation ink can be sufficient; the choice depends on the color intensity you're aiming for.

What to Consider When Choosing

The choice between standard and high-penetration sublimation depends more on the design's target color intensity than on the fabric's polyester content.
