Printing Systems
Eco-Solvent Wide Format Printer
An eco-solvent wide format printer prints with solvent-based ink for advertising, signage and outdoor applications. The system is selected by media type, the print width needed and the production pattern.

01 / About the System
What is Eco-Solvent Wide Format Printer
Eco-solvent systems print solvent-based ink onto roll media in wide format. The ink dries by bonding to the media surface, which is why these systems serve advertising and graphics more than textiles.
Print quality and durability depend on the media, the profile settings and the drying conditions. Colour profiling for the media type and a test print are done at the start of the process.
After printing, the media may need to rest for a while so the solvent can evaporate. Finishing steps such as lamination, cutting and mounting are planned separately for each product.
02 / Applications
Areas of use
- 01
Banners and posters
Wide format printing on flexible media for indoor and outdoor use.
- 02
Vehicle graphics
Printing applications for vehicle wraps and on adhesive vinyl.
- 03
Posters and wall graphics
Poster and wall prints for retail, exhibition and interior graphics.
- 04
Labels and adhesive products
Label and sticker prints on adhesive vinyl.
Media type, colour profile and drying conditions are confirmed with a test print in each application.
03 / System Structure
Process flow
- 01File Preparation
File and profile preparation
The image file, RIP settings and a colour profile for the media are prepared.
- 02Printer
Printing
The image is printed onto roll media with solvent-based ink.
- 03Drying
Drying
The print is left to dry for the time the media requires.
- 04Finishing
Finishing
Steps such as lamination, cutting and mounting are applied according to the product.
Drying and waiting time vary with the media type and the ink series.
04 / Process
Supply and Commissioning Process
The configuration of an eco-solvent system is assessed together with the media to be printed, the product type and site conditions such as ventilation. The need for media handling and finishing equipment is part of the supply plan.
- 01
Needs assessment
The media types to be printed, the product group and the ventilation conditions of the work area are identified.
- 02
System configuration
The printer, the media feed setup and the consumables are defined according to the product type and the production pattern.
- 03
Supply
It is clarified whether the supply scope covers only the printer or also the media feed and take-up setup.
- 04
Installation
Because solvent-based ink is used, ventilation and the layout of the work area are addressed in the installation plan.
- 05
Commissioning
A colour profile is prepared for each media type, and drying and colour results are confirmed with test prints.
- 06
Technical support
After commissioning, a technical service request can be created for print quality or drying issues.

TrueHue Eco-Solvent inks
The ink for this system can be selected from the TrueHue Eco-Solvent family. Compatibility is not determined by the ink alone; the machine configuration, the print head, the media and the drying conditions are assessed together.
