Terms and Definitions

01DTF
A digital printing method where the image is first printed onto a transfer film and then heat-applied to the textile surface. Used across a wide range of fabrics, including cotton, polyester and blends.
02Eco-Solvent
A solvent-based ink class used with wide-format printers for signage, advertising and outdoor applications.
03Sublimation
A dye-based ink system that turns to gas under heat and penetrates the polyester fiber structure. Printed onto transfer paper and applied to textile with a calender press.
04High-Penetration Sublimation
A sublimation ink subclass formulated to penetrate fabric fibers more deeply than standard sublimation inks. Used in textile applications requiring dense color saturation.
05Direct Disperse Textile
A disperse ink system printed directly onto polyester fabric without a transfer paper.
06Pigment Textile
An ink class that fixes to the fabric surface by forming a binder film, used mainly on cotton and other natural or blended fibers.
07Reactive Textile
An ink class that fixes by forming a chemical bond with cellulosic fibers such as cotton, linen and viscose.
08Acid Textile
An ink class that chemically bonds with protein-based and polyamide fibers such as wool, silk and nylon.
09UV
An ink system that cures under UV light. The surfaces it can be applied to — such as cardboard, PVC, wood or metal — may vary depending on the product type.
10Water-Based
An ink class with a water-based carrier, used in textile and paper printing.
11Digital Printing Machines
Digital printing machines and textile process equipment are selected according to need and assessed together with installation, commissioning and technical service support.
12Technical Service
Technical service draws on field-acquired technical knowledge of digital printing machines and TrueHue ink series. From installation to periodic maintenance, from fault diagnostics to process support, the technical needs of the production line are handled by a single team.
13Color Calibration
Configuring settings specific to the machine and ink combination so that print output is consistent with the target color values.
14Profiling
Creating a profile that defines color behavior for a specific ink, material and machine combination, so print output is predictable and consistent.
15Print Settings
Configuring parameters such as print speed, pass count, temperature and feed according to the ink and material being used.
16Ink & Machine Compatibility
Compatibility between the machine and the TrueHue ink series to be used is evaluated both before and after installation.
